The Application Process

Applications are completed online through Certemy—TCB’s partner platform for certification application management. Throughout the application process, applicants will receive notifications and reminder from Certemy about the status of their applications. Reminders will be automatically sent as application milestones reach their due date.

• Applications are self-paced and a include a process of submission, verification, and approval of required information.
• Fees are collected through the online application using Stripe to process online payments. In some circumstances where applicants are unable to pay online, fees can be paid by check made out to the Tennessee Certification Board.
• External steps, including a required background check and IC&RC exam are completed outside of the Certemy online application. Detailed instructions will be provided within the application to complete these steps.
• Once all application steps are completed and approved—including successful completion of the IC&RC examination—applicants can be certified.
• All certified individuals will be issued a digital certificate. The minute you certify, or recertify, the Certemy application system will automatically generate a certificate that applicants can download directly from their account.

How to Apply

To begin an application, applicants self-enroll from the appropriate credential page on TCB web site.

• Click the self-enrollment application link from the credential page
• You will be instructed to create a free Certemy account if you don't already have one
• If you do have one, you would sign in as normal
• In your account, you will see the new application you have self-enrolled into
• You will select the new application and will be prompted to "Proceed in Certemy"
• Begin working through the application steps on the right-hand side
